Paragon Software Group Corp. and Microsoft Corp. have broadened their partnership to offer new Universal File System Driver (UFSD) alternatives to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) whose products support Microsoft’s exFAT file system. Paragon has also branded its exFAT, NTFS and Windows drivers with the Microsoft name.
exFAT is a modern file system from Microsoft that facilitates large files for audiovisual media and enables seamless data portability and an easy interchange between desktop PCs and other electronic devices. Paragon is a preferred Microsoft exFAT supplier, and the partnership with Paragon offers consumers easy multimedia file exchange across platforms and devices. Paragon’s UFSD solutions enable smartphones, smart TVs, tablets, multimedia players, routers, NAS and other hardware to communicate with storage media formatted to any file system. As a result, customers can seamlessly and securely transfer multimedia content to entertainment devices, or to external storage for later playback.
“We are pleased to expand our partnership with Paragon to empower customers through UFSD and exFAT technologies,” said Micky Minhas, head of Technology Licensing for Microsoft. “Paragon is known for reliability and quality, and through its OEM reach, it is leading the way for greater interoperability. exFAT is the ideal system to partner with UFSD to provide streamlined file transfers, enabling a more powerful customer experience.”
“This expanded alliance with Microsoft marks an important milestone in our business and underscores our position as a leader in the UFSD market,” said Tom Fedro, President, Paragon Software Group Corp. “As a pioneering player in the storage management field with licensing agreements in place at scores of top tier OEM partners around the globe, Paragon is pleased to support Microsoft’s exFAT file system with complementary storage, networking and connectivity options that provide unmatched performance, data security and measurable business impact.”
Paragon provides embedded drivers that support exFAT under operating systems including Android, Linux, QNX and others. OEMs use Paragon technology to support SDXC cards formatted to exFAT across mobile, storage, network, IoT digital home and car infotainment products. OEMs already using Paragon driver technology include Buffalo, D-Link, Western Digital, ZTE and other leading brands.
Beyond file access, Paragon’s UFSD technology provides the highest data throughput speeds, enabling flawless recording and playback of High-Definition videos and a seamless VR/AR experience. These performance capabilities have set Paragon apart.
